The Museum

  The Tallulah Falls Railway Museum is operated by Rabun Gap Nachoochee Schools,Industrial Arts, Research, Engineering Lab, under the direction of Dess F. Oliver II. 
 Dess has been teaching for fifty-six years, forty-three of these years have been at Rabun Gap.  He rode the TF in August of 1955, from Clayton to Franklin on a freight run. The next week Walt Disney started filming The Great Locomotive Chase. Ever Dess rode the Tallulah Falls, he has spent many years off and on from 1955 to the present date, 2014 collecting, researching, and preserving the history of the Tallulah Falls Railroad.
 Dess has been in over sixty publications, such as Peoples magizine, Foxfire books, national & local television, many newpapers and magizines. 
 Dess retired after over fifty years of teaching in 2014.
